IBM required a very reliable, robust solution to enable them to provide information access points.
IBM was the major technology sponsors for the Sydney 2000 Olympics and was a key participant in the promotional lead-up to the games. One of the initiatives they employed was the placement of information kiosks in public high-traffic locations. These kiosks employed the latest multi-media techniques and displayed details of the many events and venues associated with the games. IBM deployed and installed 130 units in corporate offices and shopping centres over the months leading up to the games.
